Champagnes Pt 2
One of our neighbouring vineyards Bluebell , have produced a gorgeous rose. 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Pinot Munier. Set amidst bluebell-strewn woods from which the vineyard derives its name, Bluebell Vineyard Estates is a family-run vineyard and winery with a passion for producing world class still and sparkling wines. The site, once home to thousands of Large Whites, Landrace and Blue Cross Pigs is now home to over 100,000 vines growing premium quality Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier vines along with Seyval Blanc, Bacchus, Ortega, Chasselas and Merlot. A blend of Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier this elegant rosé has delicate aromas of rose petal, wild strawberry and ripe raspberry on the nose underpinned by redcurrant and juicy nectarine notes which give a rounded wine with a creamy finish.
The Champagne Gallimard is produced at Les Riceys, famous for its fine pinots noirs and its Rosé des Riceys. The family Gallimard, producers from father to son since 6 generations, develops his champagnes in the biggest respect of tradition and modern winemaking. In 1930, Jules and Ernest Gallimard, winegrowers, decided to produce their first bottles of Champagne. Then Pierre and Jean succeeded them, and actually, Didier and Arnaud are the current owners of a 10 hectare vineyard. Gold in colour with an attractive fruity nose and with aromas of exotic fruit. In the mouth, it is supple, pleasant, aromatic and very well-balanced. The mousse is fine and long tasting.
This delicious non vintage Cremant de Bougogne is 100% Chardonnay, grown in the chalky soils of the vineyards close to Peronne in the Maconnais. Before being prepared for shipment, the wine spent 18 months on its lees in bottle to enrich the final flavour. It is fresh as a daisy with a clean, crisp and citrus palate, excellent fruit and a lingering finish.
